At Church on the Rise, we want your family to find its place. Whether you have an infant, toddler, preschooler, kindergartener, or an elementary age child, we have a spot for everyone!
Our Children's Ministry staff (including volunteers) is required to complete an application/screening process including a criminal background check prior to working with our children. Your child's safety is a priority.
Nursery and Toddlers
The nursery is open 15 minutes before and after all regularly scheduled weekend services (including Sunday school) and Wednesday night activities. Our goal is to make every child feel loved and every family feel welcomed.
What to Bring
Diaper bag with essentials including 2 or 3 disposable diapers, ointment and wipes. Also, some comfort items such as a pacifier, blankets, etc. if that would be appropriate. A change of clothes, bottle or sippee cup with formula, juice, milk, water, etc. would also be appreciated.
Ages four through Kindergarten are welcome to join Kinder Kids Sunday School on Sunday mornings beginning at 9:15am. Our Kinder Kids are learning about God’s love through exploration and movement. At 10:30am, Kinder Kids Church begins in the same room. Here, we are learning about God’s Word at an early age through Bible verse memory, acting out Bible lessons and dancing to silly songs!
Sunday School 1st-6th Grades
Sunday School begins at 9:15am. In Sunday School, children learn about God’s Word and how to apply it to their lives.
1st-6th grade children begin the worship service in the Sanctuary where they can participate with older generations of believers at 10:30am. Before the sermon, children are dismissed for Children’s Church. During this time our children are also learning how much God loves us and how we can live our lives for Him with lessons designed just for them.
Wednesday Night Activities
Throughout the school year, 4 year olds –6th graders come on Wednesday nights for games, crafts and activities that challenge them in developing their faith, and growing in their understanding of Scripture and what God has in store for them.
Bible Quizzing is for 1st-6th graders and is offered during Sunday School. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn a book of the Bible through scripture memorization, study and quizzing on the local, district, and even the world level. Bible quizzing lasts September- March.
We participate with the ORPAC District Church of the Nazarene Summer Camp. Children’s camps are at Camp Kellogg near Elkton. We offer camps for kids going into 2-6th grade.
